My favorite part of fall, are the days we are most connected to the dead. Thinking of all those ive known who’s passed; my family, friends, and animals.

It’s been a year without my dogs and goat, a year of losing some of the greatest friends, a year of losing myself to find myself. Sometimes we just wander into ourselves, embracing the darkness and silence, to find a new path for ourselves.

Here’s a custom side blown duct flute (na style)

Here’s a custom side blown duct flute (na style) made of local red cedar and sourced purpleheart wood. The totem displays a Taino coqui symbol and the bottom is decorated with a wood burned Taino pattern representing the milky way.

Taino ceramic bowl, inspired by an ancient artifac

Taino ceramic bowl, inspired by an ancient artifact. This bowl has representations of bats on each side.

The bat was an important archetype in Taino “mythology”. This symbol embodied our passed away ancestors, coming back each night to visit us and feed on guava. Maquetarie guayababa (guide of the underworld) was also represented as a bat at times.

This piece was made in black clay from Central America.
